Practice...Practice!
Thank you to my mom's teacher friend (Terry Beasley)and other teachers who helped with a mock interview today! Thank you for the great tips and for taking time out of your busy schedule to ask me questions in preparation for STATE pageant!
Softball tournament this weekend- I will be careful sliding into home plate mom! My mom has to be the only mom on earth who screams from the stands, "No don't slide; you have a pageant and you will skin up your knees!!" I just enjoy hearing, "SAFE"!
Final alterations next week for opening number dress and evening wear! Can't wait to represent Miss Columbia's Outstanding Teen and see everyone! It is always fun to hang out with my little sis queen Olivia Coy and my Cheetah sisters!!

Promoting Platform at Elementary School Visit!
On Friday, March 23rd I had the opportunity to visit an elementary school to promote my platform. I was thrilled when Amanda Williams (Miss Metro St. Louis) joined me to promote her platform also! Amanda talks about healthy eating!
I talked with first graders about my platform GRACE. My goal is to help counsel people of all ages and those hurt by unfair judgement and intolerance. GRACE means Give, Respect, Accept, Compassion, and Encourage. I engaged students in an interactive lesson aimed at increasing their awareness of how they view themelves and others. Using a mirror the kids look in it to see themselves and tell me what they see. I also read a book about expressing kindness, compassion and appreciation towards others, the kids became excited about encouraging their classmates with words of support and spirit-lifting gestures. I had a great time and look forward in visiting more schools and talking to others about not judging others.

On Saturday, February 11th I had the opportunity to sing the National Anthem at Missouri University (MU) swim meet! There are four levels of the diving boards and I sang on the 3rd level 60 feet in the air! (Did I mention I am scared of heights?) What an incredible experience and I can't wait to do something like that again as Miss Columbia's Outstanding Teen!
